Great Motorcycle Roads in the USA

Honda Of Stillwater

Other Great Rides:

  • The ride from Torrey Utah, to Bryce Canyon, Hwy 12 Utah is one of the most beautiful in the States. You can't get on the wrong road, there aren't very many.
  • Try the Wind River Canyon, Wyoming, just this side of Thermopolis.
  • Then of course there is Cimarron Canyon, New Mexico on the way to Red River/Taos New Mexico. These are some of my favorite canyons and the rides around them.
  • Another great ride is hwy 128 east out of Moab Utah, to Cisco Utah, it is a beautiful ride beside the Colorado River, through the red rock canyon walls.
  • A wonderful ride ride is off of hwy 191 in Utah between Monticello North toward Moab take hwy 211 west into the canyon lands 34 miles to roads end, its just beautiful. Careful there are 15 cattle guards in this 34 mile ride.
So that is 15 in and 15 out, 68 miles 30 guards. But well worth it.
  • In Colorado from Trinidad go west on hwy 12 to La Veta, not a normally traveled road in Co., but one worth riding. Hwy 12 then meets up with hwy 160 which cuts across Co. east to west.
  • A road less traveled in Oklahoma out in the panhandle is hwy64 from Alva to Hooker, is much prettier than 412 getting to Guymon.
  • From Talahina, Oklahoma take hwy 82 north to Stigler, Ok, and you will find a ride that reminds you of Colorado.
  • It's a beautiful ride from the East Entrance Of Yellow Stone National Park east to Cody, Wyoming. And while in the Yellow Stone area make sure you ride over Bear Tooth.
  • In Colorado from the town of Dinosaur go to the entrance of the Dinosaur National Monument and ride the 25 miles in to the end and then hike one mile out to the point where the Green and Yampa rivers converge, It is absolutely beautiful and well worth the ride in there. It says it is the best view of any national park, and I thinks it ranks right there with any I have seen.
  • Also the ride from Dinosaur to Rangely south to Loma Colorado on highway 139 is really a great ride much beauty and twisties.
  • Try riding from Laramie Wy, on hwy 130 west to Ryan Park, it is very high in the Medicine Bow and just one beautiful ride.
  • The most surprising ride I have had in many a moon is from Rock Springs, Wy, south on hwy 191 to Vernal, Utah. It has some of the most amazing Vistas you will see in the US. Long winding with spectacular views.
  • Next time you are up this direction try riding from Cody, Wy North on hwy 120 to hwy 296, The Chief Joseph Highway, and stop at Dead Indian Pass. The history alone is awe inspiring and what a fabulous view.

Remember the ride is the prize, and riding with friends is the true prize.
